Our septic tank is easy to install and it is trouble-free in terms of service. It is long-lasting and extremely durable. You can use it straight after installation, requiring no starter or chemicals. Tree roots can not penetrate and it is not affected by cold temperatures. It does not float when groundwater gets very high.
Materials of Fibre Cement Septic tank.
The tank is made up of 2 or more cylindrical sections or rings 915mm in diameter.(36″) and 610mm deep. There are one or more central flat sheet baffle plates. These are inserted into vertical grooves in the sections. EXCEPT for the bottom section. To prevent the baffles from slipping down and interfering with the flow out of the tank, the grooves in this section must be filled with cement plaster or other compounds.
There are two sockets for sealing the inlet and outlet holes. Two branched tee pieces for the inlet and outlet are 100mm in internal diameter. There is also a loose collar for connection to the sewer pipe and there is also a lid.
Capacities
The recommended capacities of the fibre cement tank are as follows:
2 ring tank suitable to serve 6 persons.
3 ring tank suitable to serve 10 persons.
4 ring tank suitable to serve 14 persons.
Foundation and assembly
Roughly level the bottom of the hole and compact the earth. Pour a 100mm thick concrete base, (mix 6;3;1) level off, and allow to set. Lower the bottom ring into position, socket up, allowing approximately 30mm clearance all round. Level up. Care must be taken to ensure that the vertical grooves in the ring are positioned at right angles to the incoming sewer pipe. Pour concrete in the 300mm gap between the outer wall and the earth’s face. Tamp well to form a haunching with a minimum depth of 100mm.
